April 2005: Still working in the executive search field. After leaving Heidrick & Struggles as a Partner in 2001, founded my own firm which is going well. Have interesting public company COO search in San Diego for any of our classmates with great leadership DNA. Must have run large, varied teams in a process intensive industry with quantitative bent. October 2002: Late last year I started my own retained executive search firm http://www.aasted.cc/. We’ve done well, despite the poor economy, and continue to grow with a focus on the enterprise software and data storage industries. My wife and I welcomed our daughter Ellie into the world last December. Erik, now four, is her proud big brother.
January 2002: Yvette and I welcomed our daughter Ellen into the world 12/18. Erik, now three, is a proud big brother. I now have my own Executive Search business (http://aasted.cc) focusing on senior execs in software and data storage, mostly for venture backed companies.

October 2001: After being at two national executive search firms, in September I started my own firm, Aasted & Associates. We are focusing on recruiting corporate officers to leading tech companies. The slowdown has hit everyone big time, but so far we’re keeping busy (fingers crossed). Call anytime: 858-456-4598. My wife and 3-year old son almost ended up on the United flight out of Boston that went into the WTC, but by luck made other plans. Am dearly hoping none of our classmates fell in the attacks.
